What if I change my mind and want to study something different in college?

It makes sense to explore your options and interests in high school—where your education is relatively inexpensive—in order to find out whether a career field is going to be all that you wanted or not. Those changes of heart in college can be very costly, both in time and money. The college Tech Prep program expands your ability to try out different career interests with comparatively modest investments. As a bonus, if what you do try out ends up to be a great match, you have a wonderful head start on your future. If not, you know one career area that doesn't work for you – at minimal cost.

Will my credits transfer to any college?

Transferability of your credit depends on the receiving institution. You will need to check with the college that you are applying for admission to. By providing the college course description, along with a copy of your official or unofficial transcript, you will assist the college credit evaluation department in their task.

I took Tech Prep classes last year but didn’t apply for credit.  Can I do it now?

No, in order to be eligible for Tech Prep credit, a student must register for the Tech Prep program during the same school year that they are enrolled in the Tech Prep high school class.  We are not able to go back and award credit after the fact. Some exceptions do apply for two-semester courses.
